Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, and beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel.
Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible. We utilize the latest technology, and offer a variety of safe and gentle treatment options to give you the customized, individual care you deserve.
Every smile starts with an initial consultation
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your initial consultation, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Perform a complete oral exam, with X-rays, if needed, to determine whether treatment is necessary
- Help you create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans
Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all the information you need to determine which treatment is right for you. Please contact our practice to schedule your initial consultation.
What happens after the initial consultation?
You’re one step closer to achieving the smile you’ve always wanted! If treatment is necessary, an orthodontic records appointment and a consultation appointment for review of findings will be made. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of face and teeth and a cephalometric X-ray. Dr. Goltz does a thorough evaluation of this information to develop a treatment plan for each patient. At the consultation appointment, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your individual case.
After the consultation, an appointment will be made to receive your appliances (braces, expander, etc.). This appointment usually takes from one to two hours. You will then see us at regular intervals six to ten weeks apart for an adjustment, which usually takes 20 to 40 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8:00am-12:00pm, and 1:30pm-5:00pm, Tuesday: 9:00am-12:00pm, and 2:30pm-6:00pm. Patients are seen by appointment only.
We understand that "life happens"! If you are running late or need to reschedule, please let us know. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. Cancel only if it is an emergency, as it is sometimes difficult to reschedule an appointment since most appointments are made six to eight weeks in advance.
Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment
It is vital that you continue to visit your family dentist at least once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups, even during your orthodontic treatment. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure you receive the best possible care.
